Creating a Sustainable SPOOKtober with GAWI

This Halloween, we embraced creativity, community, and conscious fun in the most magical way!

On October 31, 2025, GAWI held its first-ever public appearance at LeBlanc Hotel and Resort’s “Sweet & Spells” Halloween celebration — a beautiful milestone for us under GAWI Create.

Set against LeBlanc’s whimsical “Chocolate Factory” theme, our cozy corner invited kids and kids at heart to slow down, paint, and create their own little works of art. It was an afternoon filled with laughter, color, and connection — a celebration of mindful play and meaningful making. 🤎

 

Under GAWI Create, we introduced our DIY Pumpkin Basket Kit — a thoughtfully designed do-it-yourself experience that celebrates creativity and conscious making.

Each kit includes:

  • A pre-made pumpkin paper sculpture handcrafted by local Filipino artisans

  • Student-grade acrylic paints and brush set (beginner-friendly)

  • Eco jute rope handle

  • Step-by-step painting guide

Designed as a sustainable alternative to plastic trick-or-treat baskets, the Pumpkin Basket Kit allows families to enjoy the season with purpose, nurturing imagination while being kind to nature. Whether painted at the event or from the comfort of home, every pumpkin told a unique story of creativity and care.

This appearance marks the first public run of GAWANG KAMAY, a program that celebrates the art and practice of meaningful making. Each session invites participants to create with purpose, honoring heritage, craft, and the quiet beauty of hands at work.

Seeing children and parents alike immersed in painting, some focused, others playfully mixing colors was a beautiful reminder of why GAWI began: to inspire moments of togetherness and mindfulness through creation.

Of course, we couldn’t skip the treats! 🍬

Each paper cookie pouch was mindfully packed with goodies and good intentions — M&Ms, almond chocolates, gummies, and more — paired with a simple reminder that even celebrations can be kind to nature. 🌿


We’re deeply grateful to everyone who joined us at LeBlanc, and to all who supported from afar. Our DIY kits were officially sold out, and we couldn’t have asked for a better way to celebrate this milestone — and our founder’s birthday, than with a community that believes in the same values we do: creativity, sustainability, and intention.
